Tryout Information

The North Coast Vipers will hold tryouts on Wednesday August 17th as follows: 9U to 13U 6:00 pm, 14U to 18U 7:30 pm and Saturday August 20th 9U to 13U 9:00 am and 14U to 18U 10:30 am. Both tryouts are weather permitting and will take place at the Oberlin College baseball field.

1OU Vipers win tourney championship!

NC Vipers 10U team managed by Mike McClure finished the season with a bang winning the Puritas season ending tournament. The great young men on this team bested the number 1 seeded West Park Warriors in a 10 inning affair in the semifinals and handed the Bat Cage Bulldogs a 5-2 loss in the championship. This group will be a team to watch in 2012.

Another championship for the 15U Vipers

The 15U team finished a stellar summer winning their 26th game in a row to bring home the hardware at the Teams Sports Wood Bat tourney. After a 3-0 run through pool play the Vipers defeated the Ohio Longhorns 4-2 behind a clutch rbi double by Jace Russell that scored Brad Hamilton and the combined pitching of Ryan Kuntz and Eli Kraus.  Kraus, coming off a no hitter at the Buckeye Elite, pitched 4 perfect innings in dominant fashion. Michael Martin and Kyle Beck led NCV to a 9-2 win in the championship game over the Sportszone, PA Riverbandits. Kyle hit an inside the park home run at Thurman Munson stadium while Mike was the winning pitcher. The team finishes the season 33-8-1 including a 2nd place finish in the 14 team Diamond League. We'll be reading about this group in the spring as they work hard to help their high school programs.

Vipers 15U win Buckeye Elite Tournament

Bob Beck's 15U Vipers continue to roll winning their 19th game in a row to win the Buckeye Elite Tournament in Columbus. The streak includes going 4-0 in the Best of the Midwest Tourney in Dayton, 6-0 to win the Freedom Classic and 7-0 to win the Buckeye Elite. In between the team has won both of its Diamond League games. Congrats on a great run by a great group of young men.

12U Viper teams have success in the Freedom Classic

The 12U Vipers American won the championship of the Freedom Classic in the AAA Division over the 4th of July weekend. The Vipers defeated Smiley Auto of Huron to claim the top prize. The 12U National team finished runner up in the Major Division of the same tournament. The Vipers lost a 5-4 heart breaker to perennial national powerhouse Beaver Valley Red in the championship game. The Vipers led Beaver Valley 4-2 entering the bottom of the 7th inning behind gutsy and outstanding pitching by Andrew Abrahamowicz. A couple of defensive lapses in the 7th snatched defeat form the jaws of victory. Nice job both 12U teams.
